Bio
Ellen Houlihan is an award-winning narrative and commercial film director whose work has been featured on The Huffington Post, Upworthy, Perez Hilton, Splitsider, Nerdist, Brett Ratner's social media channels and MTVu. She has received numerous honors/awards including an Emmy at the College TV Awards, acceptance to New York Film Festival's Artist Academy and Shoot Magazine's New Directors Showcase as well as an AICP Shortlist nomination, a Cannes Lions Young Director Award and a $10K cash prize from Avion Tequila for her latest campaign. Film festivals include: the prestigious New York Film Festival, Gen Art Film Fest, the Oscar-qualifying LA Shorts Fest and NY Shorts Fest, Raindance, ITV Festival, Carmel Art & Film Fest (where Clint Eastwood is a juror), Cannes Film Festival's Short Film Corner, Chicago Comedy Film Festival and many others.
Background/Training
Ellen has a decade of production and development experience in both Los Angeles and New York covering major motion pictures, indie film, commercials, animation, digital and branded content featuring A-list talent.
She has studied at Art Center College of Design (MFA), Fordham University (BA) and professional training programs including Werner Herzog's Rogue Film School, Upright Citizens Brigade, The Groundlings and UCLA's screenwriting program.
